Home Buying Process “Time Line”
DECIDE TO BUY!
1) Choose a Lender. (Agent can assist.) Get pre-qualified. Decide “how much” house you will buy. You don't need to commit to a lender at this point - you can get serious about that after negotiating a contract.
2) Meet with your REALTOR. (Give agent “wish list”. Together, start searching MLS/computer.)
3) Start viewing properties. (Agent makes appointments)
4) Find the “right one”-write an offer! (Agent provides guidance and completes appropriate forms.)
5) Negotiate the price & terms. (Most communication is agent-to-agent.)
6) When all parties agree to price & terms and sign & initial all appropriate forms, you have a CONTRACT.
Congratulations! You are buying a house!!
